Cakmak is working toward a dual degree from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver Campus: A Bachelor of Science in Global Resource Systems with a focus on Global Development and Sustainability, and Masters in Management with a focus on Leadership, Strategy and Entrepreneurship.
Over the past 7 years he’s earned 27 provincial medals in Track and Field, from shot put and javelin, to octathalon, 800m and more. He’s competed at the Canadian University level with the University of Alberta and represented the Alberta provincial team three times.
Representing Leduc Track and Field Club, he has competed several times at international events, such as the Simplot Games and the Arcadia Invitational. After 11 months away from the sport to explore other areas of life, he is on the comeback to competitive athletics and is currently exploring opportunities with the Vancouver Thunderbird Track and Field Club.

He is part of the Ahkanda Yoga, formerly World Conscious Yoga Family. From this group he earned his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and has gone on to study courses in gentle restorative yoga, yoga for athletes, mediation and yin yoga.
From 2012 – 2015, he worked at the Leduc Recreation Center, teaching group fitness classes, yoga, personal training and leading workshops and training for kids, students, athletes, disabled clients, seniors and average Joes.
In 2015, he began practicing Reiki and crystal healing, and is currently exploring sound, colour, herbal and aroma healing techniques.
His passion for life and contribution led him from the Edmonton area to Vancouver to learn more about how to address challenges of poverty, hunger, energy shortages, waste challenges, political corruption and other areas of focus related to creating a more free, prosperous and loving world. He takes his passion for life and holistic wellness with him wherever he goes.
